Louis Fantasia

Advisory Board Member

Louis Fantasia  is the former Dean of the Faculty and Chair of Liberal Arts at the New York Film Academy's Los Angeles campus. He has directed more than two hundred plays world wide and is the author of several books, screenplays and essays.


Louis has served on panels on education and cross-cultural development at both the Beijing and Shanghai Film Festivals, and has lectured and given workshops at the Beijing Film Academy and the Shanghai Theatre Academy.  In 2003, the Council of Europe named the theatre collection at its library in the European Parliament in honor of him.

Al Hallak

Founder & CEO

Al Hallak is a filmmaker, educator, and entrepreneur. He has over a decade of industry experience working with renowned producers and film companies, in addition to developing and producing numerous film projects.

Hallak has taught at major film schools and organizations in the United States and has served as a judge and critic at some of the nation's most competitive film screening events.

Penelope Poulou

Advisory Board Member

Penelope Poulou is a journalist, broadcaster and film critic. She has pursued a Ph.D. in History at Kent State University with a focus on popular culture and movies. She has taught at the University of Akron for a number of years before becoming a full time reporter and broadcaster at Voice of America. 

In 2005 she started her own TV coverage on film and popular culture. Since then, she has interviewed countless of celebrities, actors, producers and filmmakers.

Daniel Flannery

Advisory Board Member

Daniel Flannery is a producer, director and director of photography. Among Flannery’s credits are most notably the ceremonies for the 1984 Los Angeles Summer Olympics. He was Director of Photography for all 8 seasons of the original series of Roseanne  and theatrical lighting designer for the films Forrest Gump, Death Becomesher and Noises Off.


Flannery has taught and lectured at many different universities and learning institutions. He is a professor at the University of California Santa Barbara. He has been recognized with numerous awards and honors for his work including four Emmy Award nominations.
